Beginner Dutch Course – A1

The beginner journey isn’t one course,

it’s two: A0 to A1, then A1 to A2.

Book them together as Double Dutch and you lock in both levels now for €950 instead of €1,000.

Course Welcome and Information

Welcome to Dutch on Track! You are about to register for our Dutch course from level A0 to A1. Below you will find the terms and conditions you agree to by becoming a student.

Commitment to Learning

Learning a language requires time and dedication. You are encouraged to practice at home, in the supermarket, with neighbors, and in various real-life situations. Expect an average of 6 hours of homework per week. If you cannot attend a class, please inform your teacher via email. Missed lessons cannot be rescheduled or refunded. However, you may request access to learning materials from missed lessons. All study materials and homework will be provided by the teacher. You will receive a certificate of participation if you attend at least 80% of the lessons.

Course Fees and Payment Terms

  • Cost: €500
  • Your spot is reserved once the course fees are paid.
  • All course fees must be paid before the start of the course. If payment is not received on time, we reserve the right to cancel your registration.

Cancellation Policy

  • Our courses require a minimum of 8 students to start. If a course is cancelled or rescheduled, you will be informed at least three working days before the official start date.
  • You will receive a full refund if the course is cancelled or rescheduled and you cannot attend the new dates. Refunds will be processed within 14 days after the cancellation is confirmed.
  • If you wish to cancel your registration, you may do so free of charge up to 14 days after signing up, provided that the course has not yet started. This follows the withdrawal rights as described in the NRTO conditions.

Course Duration and Termination

  • Dutch on Track reserves the right to terminate a course early if attendance is below expectations or other operational reasons arise. In such cases, you will be refunded the remaining balance based on the proportion of lessons already delivered.
  • If you voluntarily leave the course after it has started, no refunds will be given.

Privacy and Complaints Procedure

  • By registering, you agree to our privacy policy, which is available at our school or can be requested via email.
  • If you have any complaints, they will be handled in accordance with the complaints procedure outlined by NRTO. We aim to resolve any issues quickly and fairly.

  • Dutch on Track adheres to the NRTO Code of Conduct. Your rights as a consumer, as stipulated in the NRTO general terms, are guaranteed. For more information, you can visit the NRTO website.

Thank you for choosing Dutch on Track. We look forward to helping you achieve your language learning goals!

How a course works:

  • E-learning before class hands you the words and grammar you’ll need, even for that very first lesson.
  • In class, you do most of the talking. Your teacher (certified in teaching Dutch as a second language) is there to guide, not to lecture.
  • E-learning afterwards makes everything you practised actually stick.

Online, from wherever you are.

Same live classes, same speaking-first approach, same teacher. All you need is a laptop, and we’ll pop your study book in the post to you.

Is this one long course or two separate ones?

Two separate courses, booked as a package. You do A0 to A1, then A1 to A2 after it. The package is about committing to both and saving 5%, not about a different kind of class.

What if I'm not sure I'll continue past A1?

No problem at all. Just start with the single A0 to A1 course, and you can always decide to carry on with A2 afterwards, you lose nothing by waiting to commit. Double Dutch is simply the better deal for people who already know they're in it for both levels.

I've never done any Dutch before. Is that okay?

Perfect, that's exactly who this starts with. A0 means no prior Dutch at all. You'll begin at the very beginning.

I travel a lot. Can I keep up across both courses?

Each course is once a week for 11 weeks, and the certificate needs 80% attendance, so a lot of absences will catch up with you. If you're often away, the online format makes it far easier to stay on track, since you can join from wherever you are. Miss a week and you'll get the materials, though we can't rerun the class.

How demanding are these courses?

They move at a real pace and expect a fair amount of independent work, at a fairly abstract level. They're built for people who are university-educated or working at that level. Committing to two levels at once suits people who are ready for exactly that kind of pace.

Price & the practical bits
