Are you ready to begin learning the basics of Dutch? Join our interactive Basics Dutch Course A2 to B1. Using a communicative method focused on listening and speaking, you’ll be actively engaging in Dutch social life in no time.

Course Welcome and Information

Welcome to Dutch on Track! You are about to register for our Dutch course from level A2 to B1. Below you will find the terms and conditions you agree to by becoming a student.

Commitment to Learning

Learning a language requires time and dedication. You are encouraged to practice at home, in the supermarket, with neighbors, and in various real-life situations. Expect an average of 12 hours of homework per week. If you cannot attend a class, please inform your teacher via email. Missed lessons cannot be rescheduled or refunded. However, you may request access to learning materials from missed lessons. All study materials and homework will be provided by the teacher. You will receive a certificate of participation if you attend at least 80% of the lessons.

Course Fees and Payment Terms

  • Cost: €985
  • Your spot is reserved once the course fees are paid.
  • All course fees must be paid before the start of the course. If payment is not received on time, we reserve the right to cancel your registration.

Cancellation Policy

  • Our courses require a minimum of 8 students to start. If a course is cancelled or rescheduled, you will be informed at least three working days before the official start date.
  • You will receive a full refund if the course is cancelled or rescheduled and you cannot attend the new dates. Refunds will be processed within 14 days after the cancellation is confirmed.
  • If you wish to cancel your registration, you may do so free of charge up to 14 days after signing up, provided that the course has not yet started. This follows the withdrawal rights as described in the NRTO conditions.

Course Duration and Termination

  • Dutch on Track reserves the right to terminate a course early if attendance is below expectations or other operational reasons arise. In such cases, you will be refunded the remaining balance based on the proportion of lessons already delivered.
  • If you voluntarily leave the course after it has started, no refunds will be given.

Privacy and Complaints Procedure

  • By registering, you agree to our privacy policy, which is available at our school or can be requested via email.
  • If you have any complaints, they will be handled in accordance with the complaints procedure outlined by NRTO. We aim to resolve any issues quickly and fairly.

Consumer Rights and NRTO Membership

  • Dutch on Track adheres to the NRTO Code of Conduct. Your rights as a consumer, as stipulated in the NRTO general terms, are guaranteed. For more information, you can visit the NRTO website.

Learning Goals

By the end of this B1 Dutch Course, you will be able to:

  • Engage in conversations about daily life, such as work, family, and leisure, using past, present, and future tenses.
  • Give and ask for advice in practical situations like health, transportation, and housing, and describe health issues in conversations with healthcare providers.
  • Handle everyday interactions in public spaces (shops, restaurants, transport) and share personal experiences and opinions in a culturally appropriate way.
  • Prepare for the Staatsexamen B1 with exercises focused on key exam skills, such as writing formal letters and understanding real-world spoken and written Dutch.

 

Method

We use the Contact 3 method. Here’s how it works:

  • At Home: Prepare for class with the course materials and additional online resources on your computer, tablet, or smartphone.
  • In Class: Focus on practicing real-life conversations, especially speaking and listening skills.
  • After Class: Use supplementary e-learning tools and exercises to reinforce what you’ve learned.

We also encourage real-life practice outside of class. Expect to spend around 12 hours per week on homework, including preparation, revision, and practical exercises.
